Employment Opportunity - Combermere Facilities Coordinator Part-Time Temporary

The Township of Madawaska Valley requires a Part-Time Combermere Facilities Coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Dept. The position will provide a variety of cleaning, maintenance, repair, oversight and emergency response services related to the Combermere Community Centre facility, outdoor rink and park area, and other facilities as assigned. They will perform various preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on facility operation systems, respond to requests from staff, users and the general public to ensure quality service, and coordinate scheduling and posting of ice times. They will also install, maintain and remove the outdoor rink ice, ensuring that accurate records are kept and will operate and maintain in good working condition all outdoor rink equipment including the Zamboni.

Compensation: $20.03 per hour. No benefits.

• Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions, and to communicate tactfully and courteously with municipal staff, the general public and contractors.
• Knowledge of the systems and equipment involved in facility operation and maintenance, and the use of hand tools.
• Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and the physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class G Drivers' License along with a clean Criminal Record.
• Possession of or ability to attain a valid recognized first aid certificate and a valid recognized Smart Serve Certification required.
• Knowledge of computer operations.

This position is part-time, working a maximum of 25 hours/week, and involves seasonal fluctuations in work hours. Flexible hours required, including day, evening and weekend shifts. May be called upon with little notice to report to work due to staff shortage or due to problems arising at the facilities outside of scheduled work hours. The position will end on or before June 30, 2018 with possibility of renewal at the end of the contract.
